Saburō started walking down the street before everyone, when Zemir made his request Saburō happily responded.
"Of course! We could have regular bulgogi too... even some dak galbi too."
Saburō was thinking of special types of bbq. Just the thought of it made Saburō's mouth water a little, but he quickly brought his thoughts away from that as they approached the butcher. It was the early afternoon, so the sun was still shining and the place looked well-lit.
𝐁𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐤-𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐨'𝐬 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
It was an innocuous place, well-maintained and with a dulled sense of smell because of how much cooler it was. The butcher himself was behind a counter, waiting on the next customer. He had a very well-defined face with a couple of weathered lines going about his face like scars, and had beady eyes.
When Saburō approached though, even this rough man cracked a smile.
"One of my best customers," the butcher said, "or at least your dad is. Where is he right now, sport?"
"He's back at home getting dinner prepared," at this point if anyone followed Saburō he'd gesture to them, "these are my new friends!"
The butcher gave off a gravelly chuckle before beginning to head down the line, looking at the fresh cuts he had already set out.
"So what's not already at the Akimichi home, Saburō?"
"Just some pork shoulder butt. I'm gonna help make something special for my friend. We'll have 5 pounds of it."
After everything was brought together and the pork was put into a bag Saburō finally brought out the money to which the butcher abruptly stopped.
"What's the story," the butcher asked with some concern after seeing the hole.
Saburō gave off an uneasy laugh and ran a hand against the back of his head before looking at everyone else. They had just beat someone up for stabbing a bit of money, which they found on the side of road. Saburō wasn't really a professional liar. Maybe one of his more ruthless friends could save the day.
If it was good, the butcher would set the money down and cash it before pointing at Saburō and his friends.
"Kids like you should be grateful, if it weren't for this young sir here I wouldn't have taken this kind of money."
After that fleeting moment and they went on their way with all of the food, they'd walk to Saburō's house where they'd spend the afternoon preparing only the finest foods that could be found in one of Konoha's homes. Saburō's house itself was out further in the village. Even with the status of nobility, the Akimichi house was very modest with the only zeal to be displayed was through the pride of the clan. War banners, armors, old weapons, and more taken from previous battles fought by the clan of giants.
Even when walking into the house, pleasant smells of roasting beef and chicken yakiniku were already being prepared deep within the house. Saburo's father was hard at work, recreating some exclusive dishes with imported spices that could only be found in an Akimichi house. After everyone joined and met and Saburo's father had a hearty laugh from finding out Saburō's new friends, even more food was to be prepared.
It took some time, giving even the Zemir and Yaban who weren't even in the kitchen to growl in hunger as they could only imagine what was to be had. But after the wait was over and every last dish was laid out on the long table in the dining hall, there was an overabundance of things to be had. Every cut of meat you could imagine was on the table, kimchi and gamjajeon sat together. For Zemir specially, there was a portion of spicy, marinated barbecue pork near him. What wasn't right in front of someone, there was bound to be a dish nearby that they could pass to one another.
After that long feast and when everything was cleaned, there was still plenty more to do. Hanafuda cards, Jinsei Game; the list goes on and even if they weren't inside they could be sitting out on the back porch with refreshing drinks. Showing off each other's abilities, as each of these genin tried armstronging one another (and probably after properly learning one another's name).
Then, as the sun went down and day turned to night they could all watch and talk as fireflies gathered in the backyard. It would be a long day indeed, but one well spent among new friends. It was a strange way to make friends for sure, but it was still some sort of method.
